Update on Abby
For those who don't know, I made a little dress that I am selling to raise some money for a friend's baby who was born with a malignant brain tumor.

I wanted to post a little progress report for those who have donated.
If you haven't donated and want to, I have a donation jar in my Love, Aly store or you can buy the Sweetheart Abby Fund-Raiser dress at Love, Aly, Inner Child or Aurum Oasis.

The following comes from Abby's blog:

Praise God! Our little miracle has received nothing but great news this week. Her kidneys have recovered and are functioning within normal limits. Her hearing is showing no signs of impairment. But, most importantly her MRI was even better than we could have hoped.
It appears that her ventricles (fluid filled areas in the brain) are resolving and returning to normal size. The results from her last scan noted moderate to severe swelling of these ventricles. This increased pressure can damage the brain and needs to be treated by surgically implanting a shunt. Last time Abby had her MRI, her doctor warned us that she would need to go back to surgery for a shunt if the pressure was not resolved. So, thank you God for saving Abby from another major surgery.
The other piece of amazingly good news is that the small slice of tumor tissue that was left behind appears to have shrunk. This causes the doctors to doubt that it will ever need to be removed and assures us that the chemo is working. Another major victory!!
We are now inpatient waiting for the blood transfusion to conclude so that we can begin the fifth round of chemo. It will probably be around 2:00 a.m. before chemotherapy starts, so please say a prayer before you go to sleep tonight.
We are expecting nothing less than perfect comfort to surround Abby tonight. I thank you for your prayers. I hope you see that prayer really does overcome any obstacle. Our little abigail is living proof that miracles do happen, that God is still working in our lives, and that your prayers can save my little girl. Rachel

God is good.

Love, Aly
